Depeche Mode / A Question of Lust

$35.00 CAD

I'm happy to be able to offer a very limited edition of my print "A Question of Lust." This was a very special Depeche Mode fan art commission based around the song "A Question of Lust" and the accompanying symbol from the album Black Celebration. My inspiration for the design came almost immediately without knowing too much about the song or the lyrics. I immediately thought of Gustav Klimt's painting "The Kiss" and proposed a rendition of that to my client and she loved it! When I looked up the lyrics I knew it was too perfect. I thought the art nouveau framing and lettering would compliment the idea. The final 1/1 piece included embellishing the work with a metallic copper ink. By making the final commissioned piece a true one-of, I'm able to offer the remaining prints.....

The Print:

This is a 6 colour REDUCTION linocut print plus 1 hand-painted experimental block. All the layers were created by carving from a single linoleum block. Because it is a reduction print, it is a limited edition of 4 and the linoleum block can never be printed the same way again. This print is hand-carved and hand-pressed. That makes it extra special.

I mixed non-toxic oil-based relief inks and printed the lino block on a lightweight, natural white 120 g/m acid-free printmaking paper. The paper size is 8" x 10". The print size is approximately 6" x 9".

Each print is numbered and signed on the front bottom of the print. Limited edition of 4!

Each print will be shipped with a backing board, wrapped in plastic and enclosed in a hard mailer.
